online gaming vpn

Two teams from the same network can not join the same online server?
I've been trying to play some online games (Killing Floor, Left 4 Dead 2, Counterstrike source, etc.) into two teams on the same network but with different steam accounts. Every time I try to join the same server with the two teams, the latter to join you get an error that prevents it from joining the server. It will, however, work if I connect to a VPN server on a computer (like the shield access point). Trouble with this is, makes the game pretty lazy. Is there any way I can join the same server without using shield access point or VPN services from others?
That they probably looked at raw IP address not after the router on the PC. Not sure where they will sort but, sorry. Go to Shields Up grc.com (look at the bottom left of intellectual property) and the note of each IP address of each computer to see if this is the case. https: / / www.grc.com/x/ne.dll?bh0bkyd2
