xbox games previews

I am connected to Xbox Live, now what?

This may seem a stupid question but really, what does that really mean? I am connected, made profile, avatar, etc. now? I can see the options for dealing with game previews, download if you want to pay, but what is that? How I can find others to play against? How do I connect to other people to play against? I was expecting something similar to an interactive website, so you can view pages, tracing, etc. I can see how to add individuals from their online ID, but I do not know anyone (at this time) and play on Xbox Live. I have a great feeling after all the hype of "What's that?" Am i missing something here?

if u put in one or xbox live game will be played with others usually there is a section on the game menu that says, click on Xbox Live and go from there. What is your gamer tag?
