Xbox 360 1080p over VGA?
Ok, I have a Gateway FPD2185W monitor with a resolution of 1680×1050. I also have an Xbox 360 connected to monitor via Component cables. Now I can run games at 1080i (with some very small scale, I suppose, since my monitor is 1050 Max). I recently heard (in the message tables) that people are 1080p on their monitors of 1680×1050 with the Xbox 360 VGA cable. To my knowledge, the Xbox 360 VGA cable only supported 720p. Why did Microsoft update their VGA cables' compatibility with the Xbox 360? If I bought the VGA cable could get 1080p on my monitor? PS Sorry for my terrible grammar in this message, but I tend to favor simplicity over fluency. Well, my monitor's native resolution is 1680 by 1050, so the more I stray from that, the crappier the image. I tried switch to 720p and has all that much more remarkable was that pixelated in 1080i.
WTH are you talking about?! VGA is 1080p. In fact, this is the only way to get 1080p on a 360 elite. Its native resolution can be 1680×1050 but its maximum resolution is probably higher in which you may support 1080p with your monitor. Atleast that is the case with mine. The problem here is that resolution I am sure that your monitor is widescreen. Xbox 360 is not compatible with widescreen monitors. * Edition: Try to download videos to 1080p or even 720p. You can get the Halo Wars Trailer in 720p. Then play it on the monitor. You must have a video card and a player that although HD video playback. But you see that the quality is excellent. You'll also notice that there are black bars. If you play a game over Xbox 360 will not be any black bar because it is not compatible with widescreen. That's why it looks like shit.
